Christin Hyshka is a Canadian folk roots singer songwriter with a unique voice and music that’s filled with grit and hope. A heartfelt, honest, and fun-loving performer, his songs tell meaningful stories that mirror the experiences of his listeners lives.
Christin was raised in rural Manitoba, where he grew up immersed in the music of Neil Young, Bob Dylan, and Steve Earle, deeply influenced by the imagery these artists depict through their song writing. Music came naturally to him, and by the age of 13, he was already playing guitar and writing his own songs. Family gatherings often revolved around music, with uncles and aunts playing instruments and singing in harmonies perfected from Sunday choirs. Now based in Edmonton, Alberta, Christin performs with his band, The Modern Sons, playing tracks from his debut album, *The First Word*, along with his latest release, *Rescue*.
